Hi, I'm Monica Sala.
Monica Sala (MSc.)
I'm an integrative psychotherapist (MSc.) trained at the Metanoia Institute, London and accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) in 2001. I've been in practice for over 25 years, working in a number of face-to-face settings including private practice and NHS Primary Care surgeries, through an Integrative (Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural) psychotherapy approach.
I have over 10 years experience of working solely online, addressing issues from relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and abuse among them. I specialised in online counselling with Online Counselling and Supervision Training UK (OCST) and the Online Therapy Institute (OTI) and am a member of the Association for Counselling & Therapy Online (ACTO).
After living as an Expat for seven years in both Portugal and The Netherlands, I am now closer to family back in the UK, where I continue to offer support to expat clients as well people working for NGOs across the globe. Moving around seems to be in my DNA and working with people from different cultures, counties, countries and walks of life, is a part of my work I very much enjoy.
I feel lucky to consider psychotherapy a vocation. Having known from a very young age that I wanted to work in this field, most of my work and training have been towards achieving this end. In the last 10 years I have also discovered a passion for photography, which together with walking and yoga also nourishes my soul. While I don't follow any particular religion, I find meaning in spirituality through our inter-connectedness as humans and in the complex beauty of the natural world.
